I've gotten to drive a beta version of Papyrus' upcoming Grand Prix
Legends.  To read about my impressions, go to:

Nice review - excellent site, too, come to think of it.  Keep it live and
up-to-date, and I'll keep visiting for the latest sim news!

And when I finally get round to that new system, this looks like one sim
I'll have to buy - doubt my current 5k86 P100 will handle it :(

Have you ever tried model race cars?  No, on second thoughts you'd probably
find them a little tame.  We do have a very advanced dynamic simulation,
though - real physics ;-) and you get to race wheel-to-wheel with real
human opponents every weekend; there is no AI!

I played an earlier alpha on a P200MMX with a Rendition V1000 card and
the framerate was very good.

Great preview! So we still have to wait a couple of
months.......sigh......

One question is still unanswered though: What was the framerate and
what are the specs of the system you tested GPL on.(I know it's
unfinished
but it will give a good indication of what system I have to get ;-)

Alison,  I must say that I have been looking forward to the release of
this sim since the day I first caught wind of it.  Since then, I have
been anticipating that this landmark sim would leave us speechless once
we got to experience it.
After reading your review I realized I was wrong in that assumption.
You did a wonderful job putting words to the feelings that you
experienced while trying out the beta!  Thanks for your review (you are
truely lucky to have access to that beta)!

I know how lucky I am, and I truly appreciate it!

Thanks to everyone for their kind words about my preview.  I am eagerly
awaiting the day when everyone can experience GPL for themselves!
