force feedback problem Help!

by Bunbo » Fri, 29 Nov 2002 03:12:32

I have a new force feedback Microsoft USB controller running on XP and can't
seem to get it to work properly on any of my auto racing games.  It is so
responsive I can barely touch the wheel gas or brakes and it goes crazy.
there is no play at all.  the slightest turn to the right causes the car to
strongly veer right.  Just touching the gas bring it up to full throttle.
Anybody have any ideas how to fix this or is it just defective?  I don't see
anywhere in xp to adjust this and the individual adjustments in the games
doesn't make any noticeable difference.  I have tried it in like 4 programs
or so, Grand Prix 4, Mafia, Nascar thunder, Need for speed Hot pursuit and
they are all the same.  Do I have a defective wheel or a defective driver?
Thanks!
