GP3 and Gamepads

I am planning to go into a city in the next few weeks to buy a wheel for my
PC (Much cheaper than buying locally), but until then I only have gamepads
with my PC.

My question to all of you with the warez version is, will the game work with
my Microsoft Sidewinder gamepad?  It is a fairly basic, 2 year old
sidewinder pad (ie, no analog input).  I am tempted to buy it on Friday, but
if it will be a few weeks until I can play the game I will wait.

Thanks

I have a wheel but brake pedal is broke so I have to map brakes to a button.
GP3 includes only one brake help option which simply brakes for you (even
when you don't want) and has no option for Antilock help.

Because there is no Antilock help the botton is either on or off meaning
your brakes are either off or ON THE FLOOR so you are basically slamming on
your brakes everytime. I have gotten used to quickly pumping the brakes to
slow down but hold the botton one second to long and you skid straight off
the corner. Antilock brack help was the one thing I did like about F1 2000.

But you can get used to it just as you can adapt to turning in little bumps
of the D pad rather than just mashing it to one side.

GP3 is a good game despite what others might say. It doesn't live up to GPL
physics but its a blast to play and I frankly like the graphics over the
sterile 3d images in F1 2000 and F1WGP

Oh... I'm sure the game will work. The real question is can
you use the game pad to play the game. I think not.

spoke:

That's how it is in GP3 even with analog pedals. Can't figure it out.
I've adjusted the senesitivity settings all over the place and still
the brakes lock up the wheels every time I just touch the brake pedal.
Steering and gas feels fine, but the braking feels very digital.

I just noticed there is a directory on the cd with some extras and it
includes a setup for the MS Sidewinder Gamepad so Im sure it was tested.

Also, I used to always drive everything with a gamepad and was very
competitive - not until GPL have a run into a game that was next to
impossible to drive with a gamepad.

Check out BHMotorsports because the hotlaps from gamepads are real close to
the wheel drivers.
