GPL Regulars League New Season

by Ken MacKa » Wed, 17 Dec 2003 01:23:46

We're looking for a few more drivers to fill out the field for the next season.
The FV division starts its 8th Season on January 8.  The F2 division is starting
its second season on January 15.  Races are held on Thursdays at 7:30 PM EST.
The F2 schedule mimics the FV schedule for the convenience of those that want to
run in both series.

The core group of drivers has been racing together for over 2 years and new
drivers have always been welcomed. The points system makes sure that all the
cars get used, and helps to even out the field but with the better drivers
coming out ahead in the championship. If you're looking for some close racing,
good sportsmanship, and a friendly atmosphere trackside, then check us out.
Battle for the famous Huepenbecker Cup in FV, and the "Top Gun" Award in F2.

I like the money system you have(we also used it in another league).  If you
were running F1, I might give it a shot.

Come out for the F2 nights EP.  You can join one or the other division or
both.

I have a 56k modem that's been slowed to 33k and have no problems on the 2
servers that are available to the GPLReg league.

I never got the hang of F2's.  It would be another type of car behavior to
learn.  I have enough trouble just trying to drive *F1*...<g>

By the way, Eldred, the league I am in just finished up its second
season.  They'll be recruiting drivers for next season.  Go to
http://gplecrl.bcsims.com and look around to see if you are interested.
I should note that the format and track list isn't yet finalised for
season 3 though.

in fact it's a clean, smooth, progressive performance that supplies the

Mooo?
We haven't done the ring for a while :-(  Maybe it's time to put some
pressure on the admins especially since we're also running f2 (you almost
have enough time to read Four Wheel Drift in the fvs down that straight).

You should really give the FV's a try.  Nice power to grip ratio (not the
driving on ice feeling of F3), and you actually have time to catch mistakes (or
at least realize what you did wrong as you're sliding through the grass :-) ).
Much easier to drive than F1 and F2 and F3 but still require some skill to get
the most from them.

    Moo!

The ring is about the only track that I really like running the slower
classes in.  One of these days I'll beat 9minutes in FG :)

The schedule for Season 8 is included below. There are two non points races
scheduled for the holiday periods and an eight race series for both our
flagship FV division and the supporting F2 series. Also, the tracks are the same
for both series, to reduce the learning curve and allow more race "seat time"
for those that choose to race both series. The new tracks were picked largely on
the "fun to drive" ratings from the GPL Track Database.
