Hi :)
the other weekend i modified my T2 by adding a nice little switch
to split the pedal axiis at will, so i can probably give some
useful advice here:)
I've got an older T2 though, the one that required an adapter
because the pedals were on joystick2-x axis.
I've also added two gearshift buttons to teh wheel, and halved
the travel of the pedals for a) more realistic travel, and b) to
be much kinder on the springs.

yep, a +5V wire, the joystick axis wire, and a shield. I actually
did try using the shield for my second axis but that then interfered
with the other axis and this was very bad!:) I actually just run
an extra wire for the extra axis alongside the current cable, with
lots of tape to hold the two together.
You ahve to hack'n'slash into the plug at the computer end to
actually add thewire though, it's a molded plug and all the wires
inside are cast in some kind of soft plastic which you have to
spend like hours cutting away to get to the wires you want.
yeah:( i was hoping to add a pedal one day but it's way beyond me
without any mounting points at all.
Since i use left foot braking it would be a pain to have to use
a left foot clutch too, so i was thinking of trying to add a hand
clutch, ala the paddles on a GP1 wheel. but I don't have a clue how
to make a hand paddle or how to mount it. there's some spare wires
in the cable for the steering unit though.
email me if you want to get down into the gritty technical details,
i'd like to help more people get their pedals split:) it's much
more realistic and feels much better when driving!:) and you can
do really awesome donuts in GPL with the brake and accel down hard:)
cheers,
Grant.
