Hi,

Does anyone know of a good PC software that helps you drive? I don't
want a game, got plenty of that, just a driving simulation that helps
you learn to drive. Thanks!

There is a simulation called 'Real Car simulator'..  It's Japanese and a
port of the Gran Tourismo from PS.  But it seems really good..

Try Driver's Ed 99 by Sierra

http://www.sierra.com/sierra/driversed99/showroom.html,

possibly Midtown Madness. It's possible to drive "properly" in the free
roaming mode.

I do remember seeing such software at Office Depot once, but I can't
remember the name of it. It was specifically designed to help you pass
your driving exam. Best to do a search on the web for something like
"driving simulation+exam".

Yep, it's very good, but some of the options are in Japanese.

There is a product called Sierra Drivers Learning something, but that
basically helped with understanding the rules of traffic.

I think a computer sim will be very limited in learning the aspects of
driving a road car. Although a racing game will help improving
eye-hand-feet coordination. This topic is under research by a coworker
of mine.

its in the wheels-section of tuning parts (new cars, dealers) in gt2
where you can choose "real-life"-tires in gt2... and a rather strange
driving experience.
