Sierra and NASCAR

I've kinda scanned the many Sierra/Papy/NASCAR-related posts today, and I
feel bad that all you guys who are (apparently) being fed information in
such a piecemeal fashion.  But I feel even worse for the casual gamer -- not
the enthusiasts we have in this newsgroup.  Here's why ...

As of today, my local Comp USA had five (5!) Sierra sports NASCAR titles on
the shelf:
Nascar 99 for $39.99
Nascar II for $29.99
Nascar II 50th Anniversary edition for $29.99
Nascar Craftsman Trucks for $19.99
Nascar Racing for $14.99.

That's nutty!  How does the average guy know what in the heck he's getting?
I really have to wonder about Sierra's marketing people.

In Britain, Nascar Racing II has been selling for just 9 in all shops
for ages. You're paying way over the top for games.

Also, Nascar Racing 1 is so old I don't know if they're still selling
it here. I certainly haven't seen it in a while.

As for how the average Tom,*** and Harry would know what they're
getting... that's what rec.autos.simulators is here for! :) <g>
