The patch for 1.0 won't get past the "NCHRLTTE.DAT" file and says error,
original file not found.  Even after I copied the file again from the
CD.  Anyone know why?

I want state I believe I have this as well. I was tinkering around with the
Arcade network mode and felt it might just be Arcade. But I guess not I get
this from time to time as well. If it's the program than this has to be fix
#1.

:

I may have experienced it "once" out of the couple hundred laps at
Talledega.  It felt like I ran over a beer can, or that I got a gently
tap on the right rear quarter panel.  However, knock-on-sheet-metal,
I'm one of the lucky ones and haven't had this problem.

For all of those who say Papy didn't test out the patch.  Come on, get
real.  They tested it.  They just didn't have the right combination of
hardware configurations to find this problem.  Just think about how many
different machines they would have to have to represent all of the
combintions out there.  And then all of the man hours on all of those
machines.

However, Papy still has a good track record for tracking down these
problems.  Look what happened when they finally decided to put out the
effort still the "hand of god".  While they may not always sit on the
pole and finish first, they always finish in the top 10!  Well, they
may have dropped out of the race with ICR2, now that they don't have a
future for CART sims. :-(

Thanks Michael ... I appreciate the vote of confidence, though I hope we
can figure out how to close the loop a bit tighter in the future.  Y'all
out there are a really efficient quick testing service, but unfortunately
the bug reports come after rather than before the release ...

As for the HOG bug ... you might or might not recall, but that one was
pretty much a personal crusade for me, which I solved only by enlisting
assistance from a few hundred folks testing on Hawaii.  I believe it will
be easier to get the joystick problems resolved than it was to track down
the HOG bug, though I can't promise it'll come as quick as you or I would
like it to ...

I've experienced it in DOS-mode (and with N2 dos installation).  It was
at Tally.  I don't have a T2, so it's not because of it (like some
poeple sayed).  Thanks a lot,

Never mind. Played it a little more and it started doing it in DOS as
well.

The date problem that you are talking about is probably not a glitch.  If
this program is marketed in other countries (where they use the
day/month/year method.  It makes more sense to me) it was probably done on
purpose.  Just my comment.  I haven't had any of the problems you guys have
had though.

Thanks for the might crusade to stamp HOG!  No More Hog!  No More Hog!

As to a "fix" coming "quickly", it never has and it never will.  We (and
all of the folks at Papy) wanted it the day before yesterday. ;-)  I'm
really sorry so many people have this one real annoying problem with the
patch.  It seems to have left a very bad taste in some users' mouth.
For those, just keep in mind, it was not an Oliver Stone ***.  It
was just God getting even for having had his "Hand" controlled by the
Papy Gang!
