Nascar 2 Setups Needed

by Peter Hoope » Thu, 26 Feb 1998 04:00:00

Hi all,
Just hoping someone out there can help me. I have just started playing Nascar 2 (having had it stacked away in my cupboard for over a year) and am struggling to get to grips with the car setups. I just can't seem to carry the speed through the corners that the computer cars are able to do. I am on average about 7mph slower than the fastest of the computer cars (set to 101%). Can someone point me in the right direction for a good site with a selection of setups I can try out. Or even better a guide to better setting up of the car.

Many Thanks

I second that as those sites have good setup guides but I have found something
even better to work on your setups in the past few days. Get in the NROS (if
you aren't a member already) and race against real live people instead of the
AI cars. You will tend to work real *** your setups to keep from getting
run over out there. I know my setups have improved a lot since then. There are
also people on there that can help with setting up your car in real time.

Why do you run 101%.  This will be very fast at some tracks, particularly
places like Dover, Richmond, Rockingham and Sears Point - where at 100% you
will already stuggle to keep up.  At Talladega - you will still kill em at
101%.

Also, I recommend hunting for some of the custom AI files around.  I, of
course, like my own - but there are other goods ones out there.  The
advantage is the improvement in the lines and speeds at various parts of the
track that should make the AI more predictable and consistent.  At very
least, get the Talladega AI, boost the rels=116 (or there abouts) and be
patient.
