In Woodbridge, VA - 20 minutes outside of D.C. and home of Potomac Mills
Mall (i wish someone would set the place on fire already), the gas prices
range from .72 cents at Sheets for the low-octaine stuff to about .98
cents for premium. Mobil, Exxon and Shell are all about .81 cents for
the cheap stuff and 1.05 for premium.
Wish I had a car already so I could take advantage of the price drops. At
least it looks like they will keep dropping because of the overstock of
oil/gas because of the lack of a asian market and the fact that most
major oil companies/manufacturers are still drilling in the middle east
at the same rate that they were last year. Which is making production way
higher than any (American) market needs at this time.
I just hope the lowered prices don't come back to bite us in the ass in
a couple of years (2000?) when the mid-east market decides that they need
to slow the drilling down and charge more, and the gas/oil companies
start running out of gas. Old supply and demand thing could possibly come
back to haunt us, but I'm sure as hell going to try and enjoy the prices
around here while I can.
And while I'm typing, if there is anyone out there that is still reading
this, lives in the northern va, d.c. maryland area (any area that is
about an hour drive or less from Woodbridge-Springfield area) and has a
car for sale in the range of 2500 or less, give me an email. I might be
interested.
