Microsoft MTM w/T2 screwed - please help!

by Jo » Mon, 19 May 1997 04:00:00

I just got a 3d card (Monster 3d 3dfx) so I thought I'd reinstall MTM
to se how it looked. It works OK but the control (via my T2 wheel) is
screwed. The wheel is calibrated with Win95 (and set to race car
controller in MTM), and works fine with other Win95 games like Moto
Racer.

In MTM it seems like it's only reading 50% of my wheel values. I can
turn the wheel but only slightly. It reads the gas but will only go
60mph and no faster. It's totally screwed (I've played MTM before so I
know hoew fast it's supposed to go). Any advice would be appreciated.

Sort of had the same problem with another game and the T2.  Problem
stemmed from my AWE64 gold not having DirectX 3 certified drivers.
It ended up screwing up the response that the T2 was giving to NFS2.
After d/ling the new AWE64 drivers (DirectX certified) everything
works fine.   You didn't mention if you were using DirectX.  Maybe
this is an avenue to check.  Hope it helps.

Make sure you go to the games/control options menu and
move the steering response slider all the way to the left.
