T2 - Need 1 port or 2

by Stuart J. Boyl » Sat, 03 Feb 1996 04:00:00

I have just purchased a Toshiba Techra 700CT notbook computer and would
like to purchase a T2 to play some driving sims on it.

Quickshot makes a PCMCIA game card so I could hook-up a joystick to it.
This game card however has only 1 port instead of the normal 2 you have
on most desktop PC's.

I seem to remember someone telling me that the T2 uses 2 ports rather
than just one.  I also seem to remember that even though it takes 2
ports, a "Y" converter may be available so you can still get it to work
with only one port on your game card.

Could you please clarify this for me before I go out and spend the bucks?

Thanks for your help.

Most joystick ports on PC game cards are "dual port", but only have one
connector. This will allow you to use two joysticks, or the T1/T2
wheel/pedal combo.

Check with the manufacturer of the PCMCIA card, to see if the joystick
port is a "dual port".
