If the alternate_ip_address doesn't fix the problem, hopefully this
issue will be addressed in the upcoming patch. However, in the
meantime, you maybe able to beat the system by "cheating".
Boot up your machine with dhcp turned on (to insure you are setup with
the right IP, gateway, etc. Then use winipcfg.exe to determine the
addresses assigned to your TCP/IP connection. Using this information
"hard code" this into your TCP/IP Network via the Control Panel (turning
off DHCP). You may need to restart Windows. Do this only when you are
wishing to run GPL online (until the patch comes). For all other
purposes, it is best to fall back to your original TCP/IP setup (so make
sure you note those down first).
This is all theory, but it may just work.
