GPL won't work

I just bought GPL today and it won't run.  It gets to the Title
screen, then says, "This program has performed an illegal operation
and is shutting down", and dumps me back to the Windows desk top.

Any suggestions?

I'm running a PII 300, 96 Mb of RAM, Voodoo 1 card

I hate to have to take this back.

Hi Jim,

Wish I could help but I don't know all that techie stuff.  You should try
contacting tech support, www.sierrasports.com.  I didn't see a email button
there but they do have a message board.  You should provide as much system info
as you possibly can, and details on the illegal op.  That would help those that
know about these things to figure out the problem.

I don't know where you got it, or what their return policy is, but you owe it
to yourself to try to get it going for as long as possible before returning.
If you can get it fixed & running, you will not be disappointed. The game
(while frustrating at times) is totally amazing!

I had the same problem - but I fixed it by restarting the computer.
I had answered NO to the "Is it ok to restart..." question because I already
had DirectX6 installed so I thought it was not necessary to restart - but it
was :-)
