Thoughts on two different games (Rally Championship and Screamer2)?

I know these two games are different from one another, but I was
interested in peoples general opinions on both.  Are they worth
purchasing?

Rally Champ is, a pretty good game. The graphics are "Need for Speed
1" style, which means very fast in hi-res, with some nice effects like
snow, fog, rain (with lightning!) and night driving. Like NFS it also
has the invisible wall syndrome, but is otherwise a lot of fun. TONS
of non-circuit tracks.

Screamer2 is a little fun but really quite boring, there are only half
a dozen relatively short tracks, and the driving model feels less
realisic. It wasn't really worth buying.

I bought Screamer 2 for $39.95 CDN and I'm having a blast with it.  It's
maniacal to control the 4-wheel slide and the graphics "scream":~}

I can't say it's true to life, never having been in a rally car before, but
it's good value.  Can't comment on Rally championship as I've only played
the demo.

Glenn

Rally Championship by Europreess is a blast.  The sim is somewhat
arcadish, in fact very much arcade if you want it to be.  When set up
correctly it is a pretty good sim with a nice collection of cars, and a
lot of fun.

The two games are very different in approach...RC presents itself as a
sim, where S2 is strictly an arcade game.  RC has a lot of long tracks
with terrific effects (rain, snow, night driving).  S2 has half a dozen
short tracks with different road surfaces.

The driving model is different as well.  RC's is nearly good...it
doesn't have enough oversteer and opposite lock required, while S2 is
the total opposite...you're always going around corners putting in as
much opposite lock as possible.

From a straight FUN per DOLLAR perspective, I have to give it to S2.
For depth of play, RC gets the nod (with bonus points for the great
weather simulation).  Both games were in the $30 (Canadian) range.

I would really like to see a slightly toned down S2 driving model thrown
into RC's racing environment...that would be a great Rally sim...

By the way, both games work great with my TSW.

I always have a game on hand for when I have people over who want to
play...it used to be Need for Speed (original).  Now it's S2 (and Moto
Racer).

By the way, I keep hearing about a 3Dfx patch for S2, but haven't found
it anywhere.  Anybody seen it?
