My solution was to use dxtweek2 and double the range for the pedals. so
in dxtweek the #'s I use are: low: 0, center: 254, upper: 508. This
smooths out the pedals quite a-bit. Now if you could tell ME how to dial
out the tiny bit of deadzone my LWFF has even when everything is set to
zero....I'd appreciate it :)

I'd bet there is slack between the pot shaft, the plastic connecting collar
and/or the steering shaft. It's a basic pricepoint/tolerance issue, and
both Logitech wheels I've had suffered from it. The only solution is to
take it apart and modify the collar where the pot and steerer plug into it
to take up the slack. It's a pretty easy job, and there are still details
on doing it in the "mods" section of my ancient LWF review at:
