Hi,

I'm having a bit of trouble submitting my laptimes to GPL Rank. I tried
uploading my player.ini file several times, but my handicap stays at
-1520.220. I have a laptime for every circuit so that shouldn't be the
problem. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Do you get any 'errors'? Also, do you have multiple drivers defined in GPL.
Make sure you're selecting the correct player.ini to upload. If you have
RaplayAnalyzer, see what *it* thinks your handicap is. That number might be
right, for some reason. Other than that, I'm out of ideas...anyone else?

Thanks for the reply.

I'm afraid I only have one player, so that shouldn't be the problem.
When I check my ranking in the Replay Analyzer I get +54.7 so that's a
bit different from what GPL Rank tells me:).

Could it be that the ranking I have in GPL Rank is the sum of all the
Papyrus times with a minus in front of it?

From the GPL-rank faq;

I uploaded my player.ini,but my chassis handicaps were not updated!!

As calculating the chassis handicaps is a cpu bound process it is only
feasible on a daily basis (around 2230 GMT). Check again the following day,
everything should be fine and dandy then.

Peter,

A wild guess would be that you accidentally are uploading the worng
file. Are you absolutely sure that you are uploading the right player
ini file? If RA can find the right times, so should GPLRank.

Another possibility (guess): Have you been editing the file manually?
(I'm not implying that you have "made" laptimes instead of earning them
but perhaps you have ruined something? Extra lines? Blanks?)

If everything else fails, you may mail the file to me, so I can take a
look and see if I can spot anything odd in it. I'm no expert but it's
worth a try.

He is talking about his normal handicap...the chassis handicap is the CPU
process...that is that it must process your handicap for each chassis
individually, not just your fastest overall lap at each track...but good
eyes either way.

Peter, I see your account but there is no player.ini. You haven't
been successful in uploading it. You must us the BROWSE button to
navigate to your player.ini file, highlight it, and then hit the
UPLOAD FILE button, you will then see the text of your player.ini
printing on the screen. Keep trying. If not successful, tell me
exactly what your steps you are taking, and what your seeing on the
screen. Don

Hi Don,

I try to upload this file:

F:\Sierra\gpl\players\Geraedts__Peter\player.ini
(this is what GPL Rank tells me after I use the browse button to select
the file)

When I press the "Upload File" button, I get the "security information"
message box, I press "Continue" and that's it (I'm using Netscape). But
I definitely don't see the contents of my player.ini on the screen:(

Hey, on second thought after you figure out how it happened, maybe you can
package and market it and make a bunch of $.

If you do anything of the sort mentioned above, I want a percentage for

I had a - brief - moment of clarity and decided to try and upload the
blasted file with IE instead of Netscape. I installed IE, logged in to
the GPL Rank site, uploaded the file and lo and behold: it works........

appreciated!
