MS Cart + patch + Voodoo II ?

by Mike Kin » Sat, 27 Jun 1998 04:00:00

I recently upgraded to a Monster II, and when I attempt to set the graphics
to 3Dfx I get a 'mutual exclusion prevents this' message, then I'm dumped
back to '95. Does anyone know what combination of settings this message box
is referring to?
I am running the cart101 patch.

Thanks

If you're running a batch for CPR,don't use it.
If not,try deleting the 101 patch from your
temp directory and reinstall it again.Of course
you know you need the triglide .dll file with
the 101 patch for voodoo 3dfx to work.If that
doesn't help then delete the set commands from your autoexe.bat file. You must
not be using the gold drivers.Try installing the latest
V2 reference drivers from www.3dfx.com before removing the set commands.

MS Cart + patch + Voodoo II ?

I had the same problem and came across a fix from "The APEX CART Precision
Racing Message Board" at http://cart.gamestats.com/ceilidh/ceilidh.htm - I
installed CPR, applied the patch, and then put the triglide.dll file in CPR
directory.

In the <CPR directory>\system\cart.ini file, make sure there's a line:

rendererDLLPath=D:\GAMES\MICROSOFT GAMES\CART PRECISION RACING\triglide.dll

Ensure that it says "triglide.dll" and not "trid3d.dll".
