Are there any patches out there for CPR that will allow me to play it at
greater definition than 640x480?

I seem to recall a glide patch a while ago which i used with my then Voodoo
card that improved things, but now I wonder if there is one that allows me
to increase definition under D3D or OpenGL with my GeForce4 card.

There was a patch but what it was for I can't remember.

I think it was something to do with wet weather tyres being more grippy than
anything else in ANY conditions

AFAIK, there were no patches to run in higher resolutions.

No, there is no patch that will change the resolution.
