GPL pedal characteristics

Does anybody know a way to change the pedeal characteristics in GPL from
non-linear to linear, just like the characteristic of the steering can be
adjusted? It would have to be a hack, as there is no menu control for this.

It's not within GPL, but if you go to
http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/rlchurch/
he's got a WIN95/98joystick program that allows you to set sensitivity and dead
zone for ALL axes, even pedals.  Check it out; it works.

Thanks Steve. I have tried it, but this program allows you to specify the
deadzone, that is a zone with zero sensitivity, the overall sensitivity and
whether an axis is centered. In the areas where it is sensitive, it provides
a linear output to GPL, which translates this in a non-linear way to the
amount of gas supplied.

My problem with the GPL pedal is that it is too sensitive in the last part
of the movement (almost fully depressed). This gives abrupt changes in the
gas supply to the engine both when depressing or releasing the pedal in that
area a bit to quick. The result is instability or spinning by the
differential locking or unlocking suddenly.

In GP2 you can set a low sensitivity zone for steering, throttle and break.
This is different from the deadzone hack by rlchurch, in that the low
sensitivity zone is not completely insensitive. Since I have my wheel and
pedals, I have always used 0% for the low sensitivity zones in GP2, yielding
a linear behavior: x% depressed pedal = x% gas to the engine. It corresponds
my setting of (almost) linear steering in GPL.

Perhaps Papy can add a linearity slider for the pedals in an update?
