Can't get pedals to work with GPL

Can't get pedals to work with GPL

by Bob Sanders » Sat, 06 Feb 1999 04:00:00

I'm running a Thrustmaster NASCAR Pro wheel with GP Legends and haven't been
able to get the foot pedals to work.  They work fine with any other game.
When I go to set up the control I can't select the pedals. I've tried both
switch positions. I'm currently using the buttons on the wheel for brakes and
gas but on/off switches are not conducive to good lap times.  Any ideas?

There are two methods of using the Pro wheel in GPL, direct and generic.
For direct to work properly, the wheel must be configured and calibrated
in Windows before you attempt setup in GPL.  You may find that
Thrustmaster's ProPanel will help setting up your wheel/pedals in
Windows.  It can be found at:
ftp://208.129.210.78/pub/library/calibration/propanelv11.exe

After properly setting up the wheel in Windows, select direct for your
method in GPL.  You then need to calibrate your pedals and wheels in GPL
before you can assign them to their functions.

To use the generic setting in GPL, you should only need to select
generic, calibrate and then assign the functions.

If you are still experiencing problems with either, your soundcard's
gameport may not be setup properly in Windows.  You might want to try
assigning the gameport to I/O 201-201 only.

Also, you might want to use Thrustmaster's TMScope program to verify
that your wheel and pedals are being read properly through your
gameport.
