I helped a friend install and setup the game on his computer and helped get
his wheel setup. He has a 450 Pentium with a Riva TNT onboard I think. The
game ran ok, 25FPS with most of the eye candy off, but the cars had no
texture. Couldn't even make out the numbers. I'm guessing a new vid card
would help, or does he need a new system?

He needs a new video card...and a new system :P Seriously, that's getting to
be a mad old system, I'd just get a completely new system rather then spend
money on certain components that won't speed anything up too much.

Both.  I have a Riva TNT and a 1 GHz P-III and wouldn't even think of running
N2003.  It does run N4 nice though.

For shame.  I'm running N2K3 on my P3 *500* mhz just fine, TNT Ultra 2.
Granted, I have to turn off the eye candy, but at least I can race it
online.  :-)
