Go to www.papy.com and get the OpenGL driver. It will give you 30+ fps in
1024*768.

I've got the STB nVIDIA TNT in a 450 PII.  I get easily 10 fps less than
that, even with the mirrors nearly off (just cars) using that driver
along with nVIDIA's reference drivers.  Is this a card difference or am
I missing something?

It's frustrating.  The out of car view is spectacular, but of course
useless,
while the performance of the in-car view is on par with my
Canopus Pure 3d (voodoo 1).  Apparently sierra just can't find an
alternate for an opengl command that is very slow with current
TNT drivers.  The problem is in copying the portion of the rear-looking
image that corresponds to the rearview mirrors into place.  I wish they
would just allow not doing rear-view mirrors at all, if nothing else.  There
is a setting to only update the mirrors only every n frames, n <= 16,
but of course then you get uneven frame rate.

I was referring to the outside view. I get around 33-34 fps when there is not
too much going on around me. The mirror bug just ruins the in-car view : (
The papy guys should make a call to the Powerslide makers, it's the smoothest,
fastest graphics I've seen on a PC, mirror enabled or not! Does anyone know how
to check the framerate in Powerslide?
