That is pretty much how it is in RL...ie: pretty boring, I never heard a
driver sing praises about this track. Perhaps the makers of F12001 made it
too real ?

First turn - fine (right, 2nd)
Second turn - fine (left, 2nd)
Third turn - ok (right, flat)
Fourth turn - wrong, F1 cars cannot take this turn flat in 7th gear, this is
a really tricky corner in every other F1 game. The rise is at the wrong
place, the turn isn't sharp enough. (usually about 4th gear, left)
Fifth turn - seems ok (right, 2nd)
First chicane - tighter than in other F1 games
Left-ok
Right-ok
Left-ok
Right-ok
Second chicane - very very wrong, way too much space between the right and
the left turn. Once you get to the apex on the first right, you should be
able to floor it.
Left- ok (2nd)
Last turn - ok
Overall it's a great game though, and enough of the tracks are ok. It would
be nice if they'd used GPS though.

Let's just agree that they should have done better reasearch :)

GPS data is a great starting point for modelling tracks though, but as you
say, it has to be done right, and the track modellers have to use it right.
UbiSoft used it very well in F1RC for instance, just a pitty it had some bad
flaws elsewhere.
ISI's track accuracy has been poor in all their F1 games, although it
doesn't stop F1 2001 being a fantastic game overall.
Simon.
Whe cares about every other game? Try real life, where they
do take the corner (I thought) flat in 7th. At least that is what I
remembered this year. That was an extreememly high speed
corner.
Also, you can't take *** straight flat out in Monaco either.
The huge bump will throw the car into a spin if you have FF.
You can't take Eau Rouge flat out like you can in just about
every other game. Need I go on?
Yeah, just like you did when you drove for Jordon this year no
doubt :-)

Hey, you are just too good. Do you have Force Feedback?
Basically no one did in real life this year during the race. And
the ones that tried spun into the wall. Or were total back markers.
I think only one team went flat out through Eau rouge this year.

Your memory doesn't seem to be all that good.
Let's compare:
Wurz: 185 km/h Me: 300 km/h Hmmm...
1:st Chicane:
Wurz: 2nd gear 90 km/h Me: 4th gear 180 km/h Hmm again...
Wish to recant your statement?
Actually, it's the other way around, in F1RC it was plenty difficult
to floor it through Eau Rouge. In F1-2001 I can do it every time, with
both my hands tied behind my back. As can I 130R and blanchimont too.
Even If I lower downforce alot they don't become much of a challenge.
They absolutely do not take that corner flat. As na_biker proves in his
post.
I've driven the corner in GP2, GP3, and F1RC which has circuits modelled
from GPS data. I've also seen on-board footage of the whole hungaroring
lap.

Most of the drivers take Eau Rouge full throttle during the race, it's
during qualifying that only few of them do. They go into the corner 20km/h
slower during the race, and everybody takes it flat out.

It's a myth. I've watched it on digital tv with***pit channel
and extra rpm display ... they don't go flat there. There is always
a tiny little lift, you can see it and you can hear it.
Just Villeneuve who's used to racing games tries sometimes
and ends up smashing his BAR in a horrible crash ...
