Really for the newest tracks it is not hard.  Some of the first efforts
required some text editing in the gpl folder.  But that is explained usually
in a readme file.
Basically you need to find out where tracks are available, the download
the track, then unzip the track to a temporary folder then just double clik
on the
track icon.  Then everything else will be done automatically.

The latest tracks released have had installers included so you just unzip
them then double click the installer . Some tracks need to have some lines
installed in your gp.ini and 67season.ini but instructions are given and
it's all simple text editing.

A good place for a beginner to find tracks and other add-ons is
www.theuspits.com
Also head over to http://alison.simracing.com/gpl/ for plenty of advice for
newbies.

There are plenty of other sites as I'm sure others will advise you of.

Stick around on this ng and you'll find plenty of info on GPL .

to start avoid the tracks from the gplea website because they are a pain to
install (especially snetterton), the pits is probably the most "common"
source for tracks, if you look just under in this NG you'll find a link for
anderstorp which is the latest track...

if you can handle notepad, text editing, and "unzipping" you should
have no trouble with the gplea tracks.
