F1 Help Needed

by David G Fishe » Mon, 06 Apr 1998 05:00:00

Not a good start to my ownership of F1. I spent a number of hours with F1 on
a friends machine before purchasing it last week (the UK version from EB) so
I didn't have to deal with the bugs. I installed it and the version is D137
R101 N100. The replays didn't work and I had a few freeze ups. Someone here
on r.a.s. suggested to install the 1.08 patch, so I did and the game
minimized every time I hit the OK button. So I removed it and did a
re-install. I'm back to the original problems. These are the same issues
that I, and so many others, had with POD last year which is what I feared.
Can anyone help?

I'll gladly do without some fps's compared with a sim that doesn't  waste
hours of my time and not run. Hopefully someone can help me clear this up
because I do want to keep this game.

I'm running it on a P200mmx, 32megs, and a Monster3dfx.

I forgot to mention that the load screen won't appear too.

Dave, the 1.08 patch is for Voodoo II only. 1.07 is the one you want.
Go to Ubi's site to get it. Many have reported some frame rate loss with
1.07 compared to 1.05 but if you want to be able to even out tyre temps
with camber and have sound in replays then you want 1.07.
