Changing gas spring I've managed to yank ALL the wires off the pot.

Little help?

Yowie!  I've not managed to get that "involved" with mine... yet.

I noticed on the Act-Labs site they have disassembly instructions for
various prods.  I don't remember the pedals specifically being there.

Good luck!

ps: How often do these springs break?

Goes into physical disassembly but just says "don't cut wires to pot if
you're not changing it."  No clear instructions on wiring.

I'm pretty light on gear and they lasted about 4 to 5 months.  I've read
reducing the throw a bit really helps longevity as it's in that last few
percent the spings are most stressed.  I'm gonna try that myself - I think
the pedal goes too flat at full on anyway.

Mine broke more often than that, probably every 3 months or so.

The most recent time I had to replace springs I glued two US quarters to
the little plastic post that stops the pedal.  This reduced the travel of
the pedal by a few mm at most (it's not noticeable when driving), but it
seems to have made a difference.  Usually the pedal starts softening up
very quickly after a spring replacement, and eventually the spring breaks.
I've now gone several months, about the usual lifetime of my springs,
and the pedal hasn't even softened yet.  I'm very encouraged.  This fix
does seem to work.

Wow, thanks for the info.  I thought they had started using more
durable springs, but no?

I did something similare on my old T2 and that worked very well.  Seems to
me like miscalculation of spring loads is a common error by manufactureres.

Oddly enough -  I was never able to break any springs on my M$FF pedals.
