Once I get enough replays..... and TIME! :)
That was all my own stuff plus a couple of fillers from other people
that fitted the music.
I've just started in a league so no doubt there'll be a lot of stuff
from that for the next one.

Glad you noticed :)
Not many have!
An unbelievable difficult shot to do too. You have to pull the camera
back whilst still keeping the BRM mirror in the centre of the screen.
Not as easy as it sounds. Must have reshot it about 20 times!

Appreciation from a younger audience too :) A GPLer in the making eh Doug?

Thank you.

Kev I have only watched it once(stunning work tho), but early on was a
completely new set of very detailed track textures....do you know
which/who/where they came from or who provided them?   As soon as I nail the
last little lockup gremlins, I'm gonna completely redo my gpl installation.

12 gig?!?  Jeez...  That car blowing up on the grid looked familiar,
though...<g>

Cool!  What track was that where the Ferrari got so much 'air time'?  And how
did HE get airborne when no one else in that train did?

I didn't notice that it was a mirror image.  I just thought the fade to the
next scend was an 'iris' fadeout...
There was one shot that I thought was from a bumper cam, and the car was slowly
spinning.  It stopped and focused on the next car, then I realized it was the
camera, not a car that was spinning<g>.

It's Jokimaa.
The first lap I ever did. It's against the AI and I didn't realise there
was a big jump coming :)
Incidentally, the ferrari burning in the tree (the scene before that) is
actually the aftermath of the crash :O

The shot with the Honda sliding towards the camera then off the bottom of
the screen just *begs* for a sudden motion of the camera at the end (like it
was knocked over) to add a little "drama" to the moment.  Nice film!

Did think about that but the next scene of the honda dropping out of the
sky onto the other one is actually the same car a couple of seconds
later so I didn't want to give the impression that it had crashed and
stopped. I could re-render it like that just for you :-)

It was a really fun movie. I've watched it 4x already.
It's going on my next CD of GPL replays and movies.

What pgm did you use to edit it?

Especially loved the rear view mirror bit.  :)

Could you have taken a direct shot of the honda, and down a mask wipe
with a postition adjustment so that as the camera pulls back from the
ECU to reveal the BRM mirror the mask tracks it? Could set keyframe
points to make sure the mask wipe moves accordingly.

But, depending on the edit software that could be harder that than
easier. (Besides, the virtual cameramen applaude your doing it as
a "live shot" rather than post production effect<g>).

Superb Movie,Absoltley stunning.

I downloaded Jokimma and the AI cars slow down at the jump, cool place for
watching replays....Fave scene is the shot at around 45 secs where the lotus
lays down a lot of ***.....cool camera work

Oh, don't do that.  It's one thing for the audience to discuss a film and
the choice of camera angles which were made by the director and
cinematographer, but it's a completely different thing for the director to
allow his artistic integrity to be compromised by the critique of armchair
filmmakers.  :-)

I really like it the way it is.
