Just wondering which mod people like more these days...how do they compare?
Things I'm curious about: driving feel, presentation, AI, fun factor... I
already know that they simulate two different racing series. ;) I haven't
completed GTR 2002 yet, so I'm wondering if I should wait until I do so
before I buy F1 99-02... There's always too many games/sims that I haven't
completed on my PC.

There's no question that the physics are better in GTR2002 but the overall
presentation of ETCC is very professional and better than many commercial
releases. The F1C engine used by ETCC is also better for online play. How
do you define finishing GTR2002? Beating a full AI (100%) grid in a 100%
race distance full championship?

I prefer driving GTR2002 mainly because the cars in ETCC are about as
powerful as my wife's Corolla. : D

Steve,

"Finished" -raced and won at all of the different circuits with any one
of the cars in each class against AI set at 85% or higher, minimum 20%
distance....championship or single race... :)

I have a long way to go before "finishing" GTR 2k2 let alone GPL... :D

Is that possibly a rules thing? I know there are other touring car leagues
where the gear ratios are established by the rules and cannot be changed,
don't know if that's true of ETCC or not.

Yeah, it's the same with Live For Speed - a lot of people find the slow cars
more fun.
