Has anyone played through direct(serial) link?
           Any special tips?
           All i can get is a message "conection not possible"
           all coms are configured correctly on both computers .
           Please help

I have not played F1RS direct link, but I have other games (Indycar
Racing, Nascar).  Have you been able to play any games over a direct
link?  If not, make sure that you are using a NULL MODEM, and not just a
regular serial cable.  If you only have a regular serial cable, you will
need to either get a null modem cable or a null modem adapter to connect
to your serial cable.

I know this seems rather basic, but when I first tried to buy a null
modem, I went to Radio Shack and asked for one and the salesperson
didn't know what is was.  He then looked it up in his book and sold me
the wrong thing.  When I went back, a different salesperson was there
and he knew what I wanted and I got a null modem adapter to hook up to
the regular serial cable that the other salesperson had sold me (they
only carried null modem adapters and not cables).

If you are using a null modem, then I don't know what to tell you.
