N2002, the patch and rend_d3d.dll

I installed the patch for N2002 and used the original rend_d3d.dll file as
they suggested (as I did take a frame hit with the patch).  Using the old
dll puts my frame rate back to were it was.

One thing I found out is that with the old dll, you can't go into the
"Player Info" or Opponent Manager" sections.  Actually you can go into them,
but things get so slow you can't do anything.  I put the patch dll back so I
could create my player info and it worked.  I then put the old one back so
my frame rate would be ok while driving.

The other hint they gave for this problem was to disable V-Sync.  I just
moved from a Voodoo 5 to a Geforce4.  How do I disable V-sync on this card?

Russell, go into your OpenGL settings in your graphics card, advanced
settings options, and you'll see it in there.

Hmmm.  I must be missing something.  I see the V-sync in that section, but I
am running in D3D.  With the 3Dfx tools there were separate section for
OpenGL and D3D, yet for the Geforce I don't see V-sync in the D3D section.

either search google for 'coolbits.reg' or download and install NVMax.  That
will help you.

WIth an nVidia card, you will almost certainly get better performance in OpenGL, give it a try.
