I am a member of AOL, and asked in the MicroProse forum if and when a
patch would be released that might fix some of the problems users have
been experiencing while playing this sim. Today (9/9) I checked the forum
and read a post in response to my question. The person who responded said
that he called MicroProse, and asked if a patch was going to be made. He
then said that the Customer/tech support? person said that MicroProse had
no intention of releasing a patch for GP2 and then rudely hung up the
phone. I sincerely hope that this is not true, as in the prior release
(GP1) MicroProse (Geoff Crammond) at least released patches for this game.
It would be a shame to let what is potentially the best racing simulation
ever be forever hampered by bugs and glitches. It looks like a lot of
effort went into the making of this sim, and it doesn't make sense to now
abandon any further support for this product. Papyrus/Sierra has already
released 3 patches for IndyCar II (I won't argue the point of whether it
is because Indycar II is a bug ridden program or not) which shows the
support offered by a competing company in the auto sim market, MicroProse
would look awfully bad to abandon support (in the way of patches) for GP2,
and I for one would never purchase another MicroProse product if they
don't support GP2. I'm sure other feel the same way.
