The best I get on the benchmark with max sound and max gfx at 1024x768
is 54.6 fps.

This game must have a fps limiter or something cause at 512x364(?) I
still only get around 54 fps.

This is on a 450a, TNT, 128mb, BH6

You should feel privileged; I get 17.6!
(233 MHz K6 MMX, 64MB, Rage Pro Turbo 8MB at 800 X 600.)
Man, I can't wait until the Rage Fury PCI comes out!

Heres what I get:
I was getting 35fps at 1024x768 with detail and distance set at about 75% and
spec effects on low. Then I downloaded the dx6 beta drivers and now I am
getting 52fps and thats with all detail and effects at 100%. The game runs so
much smoother and without ANY GRAPHIC GLITCHES ,like the triangles and holes in
cars and the track. It even SOUNDS better. I love these new drivers. In case
anyone is interested the file is named rkv2dx6(zip) and is available from the
3dfx web site.

But the VooDoo won't do DVD decoding, and S-video, out which are necessities
for me.  Plus, they have 32 freakin' MB of RAM.

Or, you've reached the maximum bandwidth of the card...

I get 52fps at 800X600 with everything on.

I'm hardly complaining :)

Celeron 450a, CL TNT, 196 sdram

I get 55 fps in all resolutions from 640x480 up to 1024x768.

I also have a voodoo 2 in here, but the image was so washed out and
ugly I decided to not even bother.

yes- Viper actually compensates for GAMME in the software so when you combine it
with the default 1.7 settings of the voodoo driver it gets WAY TOO BRIGHT!

I also noticed that the new reference drivers from 3Dfx also seem to have
increased the gamma levels.  I had to bring my gamme down to 1.2 for most games
and 1.0 for Trespasser.

Of course the Diamond Viper 550 AGP looks totally sweet with crisp contrast,
brilliant colors and better-than-voodoo graphics and performance.

My K6-300 gets a drop in fps to about 12 I guess (I've never
actually turned on a frame-rate counter and don't even recall
how to or even if the manual said anything about one) when
racing in the pack at the start of a race, this using a Rendition
V2100 card (Stealth II S220).  I wonder if forcing the game to
use my Monster 3D card would result in better frame rate performance.
In GPL, the Rendition card gives better frame rates, so I just let
Viper stay set for the Rendition card.  Maybe I should dig out
the manual and read about how to force it to use an alternative
3D card.
