Hi,

I tried Windows XP with F1 CS 2000 with my Geforce 2 and lateste
Detonator drivers for XP. I experience a lot lower framerate compared
with Windows ME. Does anyone have this experience?

Interesting!  I've been running GP3, GPL, and F1RC on XP with a GF2 Ultra
for some time now and have been highly impressed with the performance of XP.
However, I recently got GP3 2000 and it runs like a dog but I'll post
separately on that.  I might dig out F1CS and try that later.
What 'Detonator XP drivers' are you using?
Iain

Alot of people are griping about the poorer frame rate of the 14.40 +
drivers in some of the gamer NG's & Forums that I have read, FYI.

Most people have stated over and over about poorer
performance compared
to ME. 98 and W2K. This is primarily due to the GUI and
many added services.
But one can go to the traditional settings and get
performance almost as good as the
others OS's. Hopefully the final will be optimized for
better performance but
don't hold you breath as MS OS's get more resource hungry
with each new
release. I get much better framerates in W2K then XP RC2
with all my sims.
I have a dual boot box XP/W2K so its easy to make
comparisions  between
the two.

Weird, I've never seen a service harm the system's performance on Unix
systems; if nothing happens, the service just sits silent and doesn't
eat up resources, ofcourse.
Time to check out StarOffice, see if Linux is becoming a viable
alternative.

Try to see on www.guru3d.com They mark the best drivers and the official
drivers, so it is quite easy to find good drivers between all the leaked
ones.

Do any of you guys have the old logitech red wheel? I am having trouble with
the force feedback not working properly.

I use StarOffice, but under Win98. It's pretty good for a freebie.

Tried the 12.90, no luck. Turning off mirrors makes a LOT of
difference i now notice. No reason to do that in my ME installation
though.
