N4 multi - problem adding computer cars

I'm playing N4 on a LAN with one other human opponent. The check box
for computer cars is not grayed out but when it still won't let me add
computer
opponents. Clicking it does nothing......any help is greatly appreciated!

You need to reduce the total number of allowed TCP/IP and IPX connections to
less than 42, and you'll then be able to fill in the remaining spots with
AI.
