Of course I "liked" GP2. Quite a bit.

Since GP3 is effectively GP2, I see no reason to buy it again.
Especially when F1 2000 already provides whatever minimal
computer based F1 enjoyment I need...

GP3 - A question for the disappointed ..

This is a toughy Rev. I am all up for GP3 and have been enjoying it for the
past few days (yea yea I have the warez version but they have my money and
Im just waiting). Im slightly disappointed that it isnt a major upgrade, but
the more I explain it to my friends here in CA, the more I realise that GP3
is most likely it's best as GP2.5. GP2 had few flaws to begin with (well,
alright there were a bunch) and it was still installed on my ystem up until
2 days ago. I get the same enjoyment plus some from GP3 and it too will be
installed for some time.

What bothers me is that many of us (in the community) are tearing apart GP3
for it's lack of being a bigger update to GP2, yet Papy's N3 is nothing more
than an update to N2/N99 at is is usually highly praised, including from
myself. I think it is good that there is some anger from people as it is
sending the message to companies that minor updates just arent enough.
People were mad when Papy released N3 and now it is GP3's time to take the
heat. But if you or anyone is not buying GP3 because it isnt a big enough
upgrade, I dont care... your loss buddy. Im very happy to race GP2 with
weather and upgraded (not updated) graphics.

I'd hardly call 30.00 low cost for a wet weather and 3d patch!
30.00 is the premium price for a new title.

Yes, I loved GP2, and drove it almost exclusively for
about a year.  That was four years ago?  I'm ready for
something new, and GP3 could be a lot more "new" than
it is.

The FF and weather makes it worth buying, though.

I'm not! money doesn' burn holes in my pockets just because there is a
pretender on the block.

I'l stick with what I'm happy with until we get the WSC wave <G>

Hey... Buying a new title isn't a requirement or anything.

Not everyone is retired you know :-)

Ok you are retired but like what I consider *SHIT* F1 driving
games. Now why would I be jealous about that :-)

FWIW, I am trying for the retire at 55 thing too :-)

GP3 - A question for the disappointed ..

Check some past posts...there were about a zillion complaints that N3 was
just an upgrade to N2 which was just an upgrade to N1.  At some point, we
were promised NASCAR with the GPL game engine for N3...which became N4.  N3
was a good upgrade, but people question paying full price for an extensive
patch.  GP3 was supposed to be great....it isn't.  GP2 was great for it's
day.  GP3 (a.k.a. GP2.2) is a good title, but the carry-over of all of the
major sore points from GP2 makes it a questionable purchase at full price as
well.

Marc.
