When I installed N2 from Win95 way back when, it messed up IE3.0 .  The
" fix " was to install IE 3.01 or higher on the system.  Which version
of IE are you using?  It didn't mess up IE 4.0 did it?

Either way, safest thing to do is to install N2 from DOS.  the BGN
Expansion Pack is safe to install from Win95, if you have that.

O.K.  I remember that when N2 came out, it sometimes caused Internet Explorer
to stop working.  Now I've installed N2 on my new computer and have the same
problem.  Is there an easy fix to get Internet Explorer back up and running?

Run the Sierra autoupdate, should replace the damaged file that causes
this.

Bart,

You hit the Nail on the Head with that Post !!!
I "WAS" a IE user until it keep giving me GPF's everytime i used it
(10-15 times a session) Well Micro***was no help at all."They blamed
it on my ISP" Well i SHIT CANNED IE an installed  Net Nav Gold 3.04 well
in 2 months of using it for posting, mail,my web page editing. It has had
only 1 GPF an that was my fault ! So IE sucks ! An anyone who was
foolish enough to install there even worse Beta Release of 4.0 deserves
what they get. Do a search on the probs that one causes. Real nightmare
when you try to Uninstall it......

Yeah...I understand that's what Microsoft keeps telling the Justice
Department! I guess we'll see on January 13th just how far MS is willing
to take their argument...

Thanks!

Hey Steve,
fun reading the thread in the newsgroup. In all seriousness, if you're
new computer has IE4 as its browser, you are in deep stuff. I do this
kind of thing for a living and the only sure fix is to reformat the
harddrive. From what I have been able to determine, IE4 is so insidious
to the operating system that it is almost impossible to remove. Those
other guys were not kidding. I'd just wipe the drive, do a fresh install
of Win95/OSR2, and then load Netscape. I think you'll have a lot less
headaches in the long run!
        All the best, Mike Davis
