Thanks for the preview.
But I really do not think it is worth the money..N99 was the last straw in
an obsolete engine.
I for one want better crashes..anyone see the last Sears Point race?? :)
And what about curbs? Weather? And in car live chat?
Another thing is it is no secret that GPL is a suoped up version of the same
old engine..what slows it down so much with more than 8 cars?
AI? Old engine? bad programming?
All?
I do not mean to be sarcastic..but come on.
Why not use the Viper Racing engine?
Thanks.

it wouldn't hurt if you had *some* idea what you were talking about before
making a post...

Forgive me, but I can't understand this fixation with crashes.  I see this a lot
on this newsgroup -- some sad little need to make one's mistakes entertaining.
I think the airborne ***in GPL is overdone and extremely tedious.

Nobody asked.  Just my opinion.

In an interview with David Kaemmer in PC Gamer UK last year if i remember
correctly, he said that there was no extra programming to make the accidents
more spectacular. They just came for free because of the physichs model.

About chrashes, I think it is great if they are spectacular, but not if it is
of the expence of the rest of the sim.

Why had noone have the guts to model deformation/disintegration of the tub
itself? Image hitting the bridge at Monza head on and just see the white noise,
At the replay the car would be rather flat i guess. Or in a CART sim if the
sidepod just disappears. But again, not at the expence of the sim itself, and
chrashes like this would require enormous calculations of the car's structure.

In multiplayer...

YEESSSS!!!!!

Wish I could get started on my paintjob now...

Is there going to be specular highlighting too, or do we still have to
shade the the car ourselves?

Since tDX7 will support transform and lighting, do they have to put code
in for that, or with DX7 just "do it" with newer 3D cards that support
it?

Will they be fixing the curved pit roads on the tracks that aren't
supposed to have them?

Yeah, I'm a sad case. And I have a sad little need.
And yes..I want to be entertained by these video Games..cause that it all
they are.
I try hard not to crash..but when I do it should be darn fun and and funny
to look at.
SIM still = Video GAME. Video game= FUN. Crashing is fun.
And the only reason they are not in N3 is bacause that old engine cannot do
it.

Crashing is FUN???  Hmmm... That's a new one!!
Maybe I need to readjust my goals in GPL racing? With that mentality I am
absolutely AWESOME at GPL!!!   hehe
Oh, yeah. There wont be any crashing in N3? That's a new concept too.

I couldn't care less about the accidents, I like the smoke and dirt, which
will be in N3.

As for the accidents in N3, what people are on about with GPL is that it is
a 3D game engine, the car flows like nothing before, N1, N2, N99, Nanniv,
etc all were 2D game engines, the car was like moving your mouse from side
to side... GPL is more like using your hand to move over a textured object,
sorry that's crap, but it is indescribable, especially with force feedback.

That's actually my biggest worry about N3 ... that without 3D physics,
the force-feedback won't be as good as GPL.
