N2 Patch (MUST READ!)

by Kirn Crom » Wed, 07 May 1997 04:00:00

There are many people who missed my previous posting about a NEW
NASCAR Racing 2 patch.  Papyrus is working on an updated patch, to
address some of the problems people have been having.  It will take at
least a couple of weeks, but it has been confirmed by a Sierra
representative that a NEW NASCAR Racing 2 patch will be released.

N2 Patch (MUST READ!)

by Mark » Thu, 08 May 1997 04:00:00

Just wanted to say, the only thing  papy has to fix is the T-2 steering
radios and the green frame around NC***te. I have noticed no errors
except those two with n2. just for a fact, i have not installed one third
party program yet except a cocpit. Papyrus tries to fix the game as it was
made. The patch was not intended to fix the game with your 3rd party
patches and fix more errors to correct. Thats not going to happen. Plus,
theres no lurching to the right with perfect install and no modifications.

modifications.

I've never installed anything extra into n2 (barely had time to play the
game) except the IE 3.0 patch from sierra, and after the patch to 1.02, I
now get lurching at Tally.  Just for the record:)

Do any of you people race on the modem?  There's plenty more for Papy
to fix other than the two things you mentioned.  Those are very
important bugs that need to be worked out but they're not and I quote
"the only thing papy has to fix".  The Pitting is a very big problem
on all tracks in Multiplayer.  It sux that you've managed to run about
35 or 40 laps suddenly theres a caution everyone takes the yellow
(which by the way is all screwed up too, with cars coming to a dead
halt after crossing the line) only to come around the leaders pit and
you end up in the ass end of Geoff Bodine because he elected to stop
until Hut strickland got into his damn pit stall.  Papyrus (Jim) can
we get a little support here, a little feedback isn't too much to ask
is it?  Would anyone else who's had these problems please post back to
this thread so that we might be able to get a little support.  Oh yeah
one more thing the Talladega pit fix is no good for Multiplayer
it has a bug the Towing doesn't work for the caller.  It tells you
"Hang on you're getting a tow" but guess what you're not going
anywhere.

I've modemed with a friend, but we don't do races that long, maybe 10-20
laps because I kick his but in most tracks. Sorry Steve Eakin about that
comment if you saw it.

So just because you don't have the lurching problem, there isn't a
problem for those of us that do?   FYI, I had _not_ installed one
add-on from the net, nor had I made any changes myself.  I also tried
a clean install, and patched the new install and still have the
lurching problem.

Could it be the differance between old version of the steering wheel and
having the connector on make this whole differance. It could be. I don't
know. If I had the same thing, well then I could same something for a fact,
but just saying, what problems I have. Plus, just discovered new error with
the game, when loading a setup into atlanta or any track for race, it
resest it self to easy . Anybody known of this error. Patch v 1.00.

Would we be seeing the lurching if we had not installed the IE 3.0 patch
from Sierra... also, why hasn't his patch been made as a SIGS update..? i
had to check here to learn that there was a patch available.
