Good race all in all for the Grubbat Dodge. We managed to finish 3th behind
ginger and joonli. Sorry bout the mess in the pits Kyle. I believe I could
have caught Ginger in about another 10 laps but, considering the track
surface and the hard charging the last 20 laps, that was probally wishful
thinking. Bluestringer had a good car and I dont know how he went a lap down
midway. Good thing about it was that everyone got their lap back before the
mad 20 lap dash. I believe there were two or maybe there yellows. Someone
wanted to do a restart at the beginning, but I dont think that would have
been a good idea. I hate it for the guys that got caught up in that one. See
yall at homestead.

RASCAR: North Carolina

We had one or two who didn't want to restart, so we didn't do it. On the
rare occasion that a restart is suggested, I think it might be best if we go
ahead with it if an overwhelming majority wants it during a quick "y" or "n"
poll using chat. Another reason we didn't do it (discussed using TS) is
because we thought Brian had already disconnected. We also didn't know Jan
had severe damage and would have to leave if no restart. After you both
disconnected, some of us mentioned that you two should probably try and get
on TS. It would of helped us all make our decisions whether to restart, and
I'm sure I would have done it if I'd known the two of you would be lost for
the race.

Restart requests have been very rare in RASCAR, so if something really
unusual happens on lap1, I don't see the big deal in a restart if most
agree.

My race was difficult due to the fact that early in the race I was tapped
from behind and hit the wall which caused some engine damage. I was about
10mph off the pace for most of the race. Each pit repair helped me a little,
and by the end of the race I was a bit faster. 7th wasn't too bad
considering how my car was running.

TS has been a great addition, but today we had our first problem with it.
There was too much chatting on TS at times, and it cost me while pitting. I
couldn't hear a word my crew chief was saying during a pit. I couldn't hear
if the car was still being repaired, or if I was told to "go, go, go"
because of the talking. I ended up leaving the pits earlier than I had to,
and it surely cost me in the following green laps. I also didn't hear the
message to get on the inside line, and I think it cost Mitch a penalty. He
came up from way back right as we were about to go green, and passed me. I
definitely should of known where to be without the hearing the message, but
there were a lot of things going on and if I had heard the message, I would
of been in the right spot. Never made that mistake before. I'm not even sure
I heard the message saying we were going green.

Not a big deal, but we just need to edit ourselves a bit onTS.

Grub, I got caught on pit road when the second caution came out. I had just
pulled in and the flag came out. I finally got back on the lead lap with
about 25 to go. Made my way to 4th, then someone let the dogs loose and we
were all looking for the bone. There was some really good cars and fine
racing at the end.  Me and the 103 touched on the last lap and I slid up
into the wall finishing 8th. Nice racing and a lot of fun. Congrats to the
top three.

You can alter the sound levels Dave - first race I did with TS my spotter
was louder than TS, so I missed out chat messages. This race I had TS
volume cranked up and had to be listen carefully to my spotter cause I
could barely hear him.

I agree, TS is a great addition, but makes it harder to concentrate
sometimes.
I had an incident with Larry because of it. I was running several laps on
his tail, when he asked if I wanted to pass, and that I could pass next
corner. He slowed down on the racing line going into the corner, but I
wasnt prepared to change my line and ended up punting him. Real sorry
again Larry :(
Apologies to bluestringer as well for sending you in the wall last corner
last lap. I didnt hear/feel a thing and was holding my line but in my
replay I can see you suddenly flying sideways :(
Real shame cause we had some very nice close racing with 4 cars that last
couple laps.

Cheers, jurjen

No problem Jurjen. IMO, it was just hard racing, or may have been a warp
thing. I haven't seen the replay, but I may have pinched you down a bit. I
had wore my tires out battling with Fernando and Neil. Anyway, that was some
great racing at the end.

I like the idea of being able to tell following drivers exactly where and when
they can pass.

Well, the dogs got kicked in the side a few times today, but there's always
next week :)

Between the wad of steel I had left, the lost gears, down a cylinder or two
and the seemingly never-ending BF's I still don't understand, I decided to
pack up the trailer and head home early.

That would have been me.  Sorry about that :)

You did suprise me a little bit in that corner, though :)  Given how the
last couple of turns went, I thought going under would be ok.  I didn't
really expect you to come down to the apex like you did.  I tried to get out
of there but I had too much fender under ya.

Again, sorry :)

from behind and hit the wall which caused some engine damage. I was about
10mph off the pace for most of the race. Each pit repair helped me a little,
and by the end of the race I was a bit faster. 7th wasn't too bad
considering how my car was running.

Hehe :)  Thanks :)

I practiced a _lot_ for that race.  Even though I didn't qualify well for
the main, I thought I had a real strong chance of winning if I could stay
out of trouble.  Unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be.  There's always next
week!

I am suprised I won the practice race by 7+ seconds.  I thought it was going
to be closer than that!

Durning my many hours of practice last week, I learned that you race that
track with your ears and your right foot, keeping the steering out of it as
much as possible.  I also learned that you give up a bunch in 1 and 2 to
save the tires, and use 3 and 4 to make up for it.

To me, that was the secret.

I do need to get on TS, just haven't had the time...  However, it was
probably good Sat. that I didn't have it... didn't have a whole lot of
good things too say.  :)  BTW, I didn't vote on the restart because
obviously I wanted a RS, but thought it best left up to those that
were impartial.  I also think we need a hard and fast rule.  In
another league I race in if once the leader completes a lap, no
restarts are permitted but we will do them if we wreck on the first
lap before leader completes a lap.  Normally we don't do re-starts in
RASCAR and I am undecided on the subject and given the last race it is
kinda hard to have an unbiased opinion on it right now.  Nothing is
worse than starting 3rd and get getting punted on the first lap...
well maybe starting 1st or 2nd...

Also, sorry to Jan for not acknowledging your apology, I was pretty
steamed and was trying to sort it all out before I responded and
decided I needed to cool down before typing anything.  You didn't need
to apologize though, you were as much, if not more, a victim of the
whole thing than I was.

You are exactly right. The secret is out now. Make sure to put this in your
