STARS (South Texas American Racing Series) will be accepting
applications as soon as a forum is setup. The web site is up, and I'm
currently looking for a server and to start the necessary forum.

MAKE SURE you read the whole web page before considering the
submission of your application. Ex-IGPS and RASCAR people won't see
much that is new.

Keep in mind that the whole web page will be massaged and the rough
edges and sharp corners will be smoothed out in the coming months as
the start of the season approaches (January 31, 2004).

As much as I hate to ruin your fun John....  I seriously doubt that any of
"those individuals" would even *want* to join your league.
I know I for one don't want too join  for several reasons - one of them
being the same as why I'm backing out of RASCAR (again...);  points.

The last thing I need right now is a "league"...  I got a sneaky feeling the
future will be busy enough as it is ;o)  <vbg!>

Good luck with your new reich tho :))

Man Ed, things arent any different now than before except Im adding up the
season points total.   If thats enough reason to drop out then so be it.
Woulda been nice to hear from you instead of seeing it imbedded in a NG post
though.  I kinda figured something was up cause the website hasnt been
updated since C***te.

I already knew that, I was just saying so before the fun started.  I
don't think the points thing in R*SC*R is official, it's just
something someone did as a "what-if" kind of deal. I wouldn't see it
as a reason to quit RASCAR. If you don't care about points, don't
worry about the points.

:)

BTW, Eldred and I were starting to talk about making R*SC*R a points
league a week or so before the ***y coup. Some of the rules on the
STARS page are admittedly more draconian than they were for non-points
R*SC*R, but that's because we're talking about more than just driving
well - we're talking about a points championship, and driving well is
part of winning the championship.

If you change your mind, your application would not be one of those
denied.

:)

One last thing, how'd you get racesimcentral to host r*sc*r?  I need
something along the same lines for storage of car files (and a forum).

For ***'s sake, man. Just cowboy up, email the admins and I'm sure
they'll host you. :)

I know I don't have to say here, but I would love to play in your yard.
I can offer to host car files. Up to about 100MB's at least temporarily.
Do I have to live in Texas to join? Or is Florida close enough? ;-)

I'm still working on that host thingy. Thx for the offer JS, but I'm a
cheapskate. Besides, it must be something on my end that's screwed. But
don't be surprised if I take up that offer.

Almost everyone is welcome. The short list that I spoke about on the
web page is a very short list. And when I think I've been mad about
the RASCAR thing long enough, it will shrink from two names to one,
and Wilshe knows he won't ever be removed from it.

I did (twice now, I think), and they haven't replied yet. I just
thought Ed had an inside contact that I could assualt on my own.

Yes, except for road courses. I think it goes without saying that the
entire Trans-Am phase will be run with cautions turned off.

By the way, the forums are active and I'm taking sign-ups.

The practice server may be active as soon as this Saturday, and each
week, (until the actual season starts), it will be cycled between the
cup and cts series ever saturday.  When the PWF trans-am mod is done,
that one will be added to the weekly series cycle.

Good luck with your new league.

p.s. A casual observation here--those last two paragraphs in the
"Introduction" section of your rules page (where you stress the importance
of proper grammar, to include, but not limited to, correct syntax and
reasonably accurate spelling) may give some the impression that you are
really "anal", so to speak.
