This was just posted on the Sim Bin front page  Looks Interesting !!
---------------------------------------------

Hello fans of SBDT and GT Racing 2002.

There have been a lot of questions about the future of SBDT and our upcoming
releases, and we are going to address those questions, and many of the
rumors circulating in our sim racing community.

Currently our team is working diligently on a new game that will truly blow
you away, and make GT Racing 2002 look like just another mod. We have a
slightly changed lineup and our new members are already producing brilliant
work. SBDT is better than ever, and burning with a new flame. The attention
to detail and realism that you've grown to love and expect from SBDT has
only increased.

We have been experimenting with new technologies to bring us all one step
closer to that racing nirvana we are all searching for, so expect to see
some new things that you haven't seen in any racing game to date. We've also
taken to heart many suggestions from the community, along with the physics
debate that has been going on in this community well before our time. This
game will be bigger and better than ever. More detailed, more exacting, more
accurate physics, better multiplayer (thanks to the improvements to the
engine), and a bigger lineup.

While we cannot release the exact details of what we are working on at the
moment, an official statement will be issued in a few days, so stay tuned.
Trust us, your eyes will bleed with pleasure. It will definitely be worth
the wait.

Regards,

Ian Bell - MD, VP Public Relations
Eric Boosman - VP Product Development
Stephen Baystead - VP Corporate Development

Wow..
After playing GTR2002 more than any other racing game ever, I really think
these guys should get hired by EA or someone. GTR2002 could have easily been
an expansion pack, or separate game from EA and it would have done great,
even if not in terms of sales. Im sure it still would have been profitable
for EA to buy GTR2002 or have funded it's development.

Obviously I can't wait to see what it's going to be..

I hope I am not reading to much into this, or dreaming too much might be
even a better statement. But let's hope this new "thing" is going to use
the NR2k3 engine. Afterall ProjectWildFire was built to help produce all
of those oval track mod for the Papy final masterpiece, if I was going
to put together a team to build something for the road course guys, well
Simbin would be where I would start.

I doubt it.  They generally seem to prefer to use the engine with the best
physics.

Thats arse backwards then. N2k3 has a much better physics engine than F12k2.
Anyone suggesting otherwise is a) stupid  b) a liar

However - their latest announcement suggests they'll be using ISI's latest
engine ( thus f12k2 )

Hmmm, after reading the F1C 99-02 interview I'll put my money on a MOD
for this title. It seems very MOD friendly. It looks like it'll have
great MP, AND an horn button....oh my, all we need now is a Monza
T1....

Remco, who wonders how many drivers will jump the start when some
joker uses his horn before the flag falls....

F12k2.

well, N2k3 surely has better feel and F12k2 has way too much highspeed grip,
but...

Papy's physics use pre-determined curves, variables and functions for
suspension modeling, but ISI's engine models them in real time. Papy's
engine really isn't very comfortable for modders; a lot of research has to
ne done to calculate those functions. With ISI engine, you can better and
more easily simulate different kinds of cars by inputting right suspension
configurations and geometries.

The information / concept might not be correct, but this is how I have
understood it from reading various interviews and forums.

From what I've seen so far, the Papy engine responds very well to
modifications, although how far it can be taken might be a different
matter, the hard part it seems is to figure out what is what as Papy has
not been very forthcoming with info, but there are people who are
working on it :-)

Well, I'd have only been interested in this if the physics have been
done right.  Oh, and as long as its got decent multiplayer support.
Hate to be moving my card on to pile 3 to find that I got that I got
some bad latency and my card ploughed through pile 3, taking out piles
4, 5 and 6 along the way.  Cards everywhere.  It'd be very messy.

lol  Maybe an arcade version would be ok.  Might have to dumb down the physics
a little bit to get good multiplayer ;-)
