       Gee fellas,
Some of you guys are way too high strung. I've seen two post atleast that
said its not the fact that I mentioned the work I did but that I mentioned
it first. SO WHAT!! Am I suppose to take paragraph phrasing lessons from
you experts now? I simply mentioned what I did for a living and that
because of that and talking to our driver and others that I get the same
opinion from most of them. So many of you seem to want these sims to be as
realistic as they can be but when someone makes a comment on something
thats not realistic you get bent out of shape. Maybe its because some of
you don't want anyone to tell you that your still only playing a game and
your not really in the race car. <G> And for those of you who seemed to
label the job of a tire changer a flunkie, it may not be crew chief but
its not the dull 9 to 5 either. Besides that, with the fab work I do in
the shop during the week it doesn't pay that bad either. So once again to
the juviniles in here I say, WAKE UP AND GET A LIFE!

  Heh.  heh.  AOL.  heh.

Actually, maybe it's because you sound like an immature whiny brat.  You
spout off about being a "tire changer" for a Busch team, as if that's
supposed to make you more credible than anyone else.  Then you present a
couple of points with no real back-up for them at all.  That's what's
getting you slammed more than anything.  If you have legitimate complaints
and can back them up with some intelligent discourse, they'll be listened
to.  But you come in here saying basically "No spotter talks like that,
Darlington is wrong, and I should know cuz I'm a tire changer" you're
gonna get laughed at.

So the spotter doesn't say the right things?  What should he be saying?
Darlington's incorrect?  How exactly is it incorrect?  Have you DRIVEN
Darlington?  At speed?  In a WC car as opposed to a Busch car?

No one has a problem with ANYONE saying something is not realistic.  In
fact when it comes from someone who is involved with racing it's probably
even more invited.  But there's a problem with someone ranting about a sim
and giving no rationalization for their rant other than "I'm a tire
changer."

Give some proof to your claims & discuss them like an *** insetad of
saying "NC2 sucks, nyaaa nyaaa nyaaa" and we'll listen to you.

By stating that you were a "TIRE" guy, simply implied that you wanted
people that read
this newsgroup to know you thought you knew what you were talking about,
when in fact
your a T-I-R-E changer not a D-R-I-V-E-R. So as far as a "mention" its
hard to believe
thats all it was. So whos the Bush series driver that drives for your
team and has the same opinion
you do about Nascar2? Why didnt you "mention" that?! All and all your
post imply that because your a T-I-R-E
changer that you know the difference between the way a REAL nascar
"feels" and handles compared to the
property characteristics of a Nascar SIM. NOT that tire guys were
"flunkies" or we didnt know we were only
racing a "virtual" sim. It sounds like your defending your position in
your career than really making
any intellegent remarks about the "realism" of Nascar2.

Just my nickel,

-DG- (someone with no life that thinks hes really driving a Nascar)

It's your own fault for that...Anyway you look at it, it's still a game.

Perhaps you should tread a bit lighter when posting to this news-
group...Fire-retardent suits and extiguishers are must items.  ;)

If it isn't that hard to change a tire, then why don't the drivers come
down pit road, jump out of the car, and change the tires themselves?

This is coming from a driver in the Winston racing series. I raced at
Kingsport last year and Coeburn the year before last. Without the guys
helping me in the crew, I would have not even made it to the track.
Thanks Scott, Slick, and Wayne. You are the best!!!!!!

I will say this; It is very tough to change a tire on a car under pressure. If you are sitting in
the pits while not racing, it's a breeze. But if your driver comes in with a flat under a green
flag or even under caution, it does get kind of tough.

Heheh, they do that here at Race City Speedway sometimes. Amature enduro
races. 150 laps around the 1/2 mile, high banked oval (exactly like
Bristol) in a bare bones "stock" car. Each driver must pit at least
once, and get out and change at least one tire himself (usually the RF).
It's really funny to see that. The crew can get the jack and tire iron
ready for him :) but he has to run around and loosen the nuts, jack up
the car, change it and tighten it, run around and get back in and start
it up and GO (if it will start :)

Or 250 lap races and NO tire changes! If you pit under green you lose
5-10 laps. No airtools here :) These are stock 70 series bias ply. I
think these guys know alot about tire wear :) I've gone to the pits
after races and checked out some of those tires. Worn right down to the
chords, hehe. Looking at all the damage is fun too. We get lot's of big
showings here but the enduro's are the most fun to watch. Too many
amatures going too fast (and too slow) around that kind of track :)
We've had 44 drivers there once on the 1/2 mile. Almost nose to tail
single line restarts, hehe.

Cya!

pressure. If you are sitting in
with a flat under a green

At a WC race I was at they had a tire change "game".  Slap a
timer, pick a wheel with attached lug nuts up off the ground, place it on
lugs, tighten the lug nuts with an air wrench and slap the timer.  Fast
times required a lot of strength and coordination.  Most people were
pretty pathetic.  It ain't easy to do, folks.
