LWFF with TSW Pedals

by BRH » Sun, 06 Feb 2000 04:00:00

Now that I got my LWFF to work properly, I thought that I'd try the best
of both worlds by hooking up my TSW pedals (thru the TSW wheel)  to the
gameport.  (The LWFF is hooked up to my serial port).  The goal is to
use my LWFF wheel with my TSW pedals in GPL.  I know this can be done
with the LWFF connected thru USB, but shouldn't this work, as well?

I went into Game Controllers in Control Panel, set up the LWFF on ID 1,
but when I try to put the TSW Wheel on ID 2, it's says "not connected".

Activating the pedals in this configuration in GPL didn't work.  Is
there something more to this, or am I totally offbase that this will
even work?

I'm running Win95 OSR2, so USB is not an option.

Thanks.

I really can't help you with getting the LWFF to work with the TSW pedals,
but I wanted to let you know that USB is an option because I'm running Win95
OSR2 with the LWFF through USB.  If you've applied the USB update to Win95,
you can use the LWFF USB patch found here:

http://www.wingmanteam.com/Latest_Software/Win_95_Patch/win_95_patch.htm

I installed the 3.30 wingman software with the dx 7.0 patch and the usb
patch (all found on that site), and after a reboot the wheel was detected.

I play GPL (just started) without the Profiler software and everything works
fine.  I have CH pedals that I still haven't hooked up yet because I dont
know how guys can keep their legs so close together without squashing
their...well uhm it gets kinda hot hehe.  My left nut for left foot
braking?  Don't think so.  Anyway good luck with your pedals!

To make this work with my ActLabs Force RS and TSW pedals I need to put the
TSW on ID1 and the RS on ID2.

If you want a set of our pedals already set up to work with the LWFF, just
email Dave at

this is a new service we offer, so far we have done a set for the Act Labs
Force RS and the LWFF and we'll do the same for others if there is enough
interest.

LWFF with TSW Pedals

Thanks for the tip, Wayne.

That's exactly what my problem was!  I switched the TSW onto ID1 and the LWFF to
ID2 and it works like a charm.  Great combination too!

As usual, I knew I could get a quick and helpful response from members of this
group.  You guys helped in solving my initial setup problems with the LWFF, and
now with "modifying" it to make it even better!

Thanks again!

Interesting idea.... I guess that would allow it to work with any sim, not
just GPL and a few others.

One question though, would you still use the Wingman (LWFF) profiler to set it
up, and to adjust FF settings?  In other words, would Win95 still think it's
an LWFF?

They (Thomas Enterprises) wired my Act Labs Force RS to my TSW2 pedals in
the exact same manner that they were wired before (to the Act Labs
pedals).  At least for me I know (based on info from Act Labs) that it
will be the same in the Force RS control panel as it was before.  I'll
even have the option to use split axis on my pedals or not by checking a
box in the software - and that's with my TSW2 pedals.

I would be it will be the same for you with your LWFF.
