Speed Adjustable Game Cards

I had some strange (high) readings using thrustmasters tmscope utility.
Their suggestion was that I need a speed adjustable game card such as their
ACM card or the CH gamecard 3 automatic.
One or two people have told me that they don't make much difference.
Has anybody had any experience with these?
I have a Pentium 200 MMX with Orchid 3dfx and 32mb ram and a GP1 wheel

I used ACM and now i use CH products Gamecard 3 which for me is the best with
thrusmaster wheel. But don't forget to put this command in your autoexec.bat:
CHJOY 150

In my experience Win95 calibration problems are even WORSE with the
ACM card. IMO it's a piece of junk, I'd stay away from it.

I used a CH Products Gamecard/3 for about 6 months, but I recently went back
to my gameport on my SB32.  Honestly, I can see/feel or detect no difference.

I went back to the SB32 port so I could connect the Sidewinder Pro Force
Feedback I recently bought.

BTW, I have a Pentium 166 (non-MMX), 64MB with a Diamond Monster 3DFX card.

Totally agree. My soundblaster 16 game port worked perfectly well with
P200, but I bought a TM ACM game card so I could have a wheel and a
joystick connected and switch between them without plugging/unplugging etc.
No way!! Win 95 can only see one of the ACM's connectors. Forget it

I have a P2/333, T2, and use my SB AWE64 joystick port with no problems.

In TMSCOPE, does the cross-hair jump erratically when you move the
controller?  If it does, dirty pots could be your problem.
Get some head/contact cleaner from Radio Shack and spray it
in the offending pot.

Jason.

I have found by using Thrustmaster's Propanel utility, I can run my wheel
and pedals, or joystick, through my soundcard's port with no problems. I
took my gamecard out and replaced it with a verbal commander card.

So there's no easy way to have a wheel AND joystick connected at the same
time (without having to re-calibrate every time)?

Beg to differ!

Win 95 recognises both joystick ports on my TM ACM.

Joystick in port 1, wheel in port 2.

Any decent sim allows me to choose.

I can even have a third port if I use the soundcard port. (note install the
sound card last so PNP allocates the port as #3)

If you need to you can alter the switches on the ACM to force that card to
use ports 2 & 3.

No problem - just a bit of good old trial & error

I bought the gamecard made by thrustemaster and had problems. So I called tech
support and he informed me under the table that it did not make a difference and
that he also raced on ten like myself. Also informed me to take it back where I
had purchased itthat the majority of the time it causes nothin but problem.

This is a bit off topic answer, but you can get a Joyswitch to help with
multiple joystick connections.  You don't have to keep recalibrating
everytime.  Just change the device in the Joystick Control Panel to the one
you want, and flip the switch on the Joyswitch.  You only have to calibrate
the first time you have it setup on your computer. I live and die by this
thing.

For my online Nascar Racing,  I have a Nascar Pro and a T1 connected to the
Joyswitch in case something happens to the main one during a race.  Just
flip a switch and it's the quickest pit stop you can have, lol.
