Well, I would say that Screamer is a real sh*t. (arcarde, arcade,
nothing but arcade...).
I didn't play to Fatal R., but it looks the same...

BUT, I really recommend you NFS. (not too arcade : every car have
their own behaviour, real motor sound...) I you want some fun : buy
it.
Moreover, using Thrustmaster T2 with NFS is really a great thing. (You
can't get the same sensations with Screamer...)

Anyway, NFS is the best of the three, but get some info about the
smoothness on a DX4-100. (even if I think that it should be OK in VGA
mode.)

                Bye.

Well, which is the best of this type of arcade style racing game (not
a true racing simulator like ICR/Nascar) ?

I would like it to run smoothly on a dx4-100 with 8Mb ram.  I'm
not fussed about SVGA as long as it "looks and feels" good enough
in VGA.

My system has: 486/100 2meg 64bit video card, quad speed cd (no dif from
2x to 4x) and 8 meg of ram. runs decent in SVGA 640/480.. (exept vertigo
ridge in the forrest, skips frames there a tad, but really not that bad)
Overall? if you have a 486/100, and GOOD video card (video cards make all
the diffreence in the world in this game!) get it.. it runs good. Now I
just wish there was an add-on cd.... if EA is listening, I want an
add-on!! :)

NFS (demo) works on my DX4 in SVGA (no difference in speed!!! to VGA) with
the full amount of detail. Screamer is not bad at all but it can get a little
monotonous. The speed and detail of the graphics makes you think that that
you are playing on a (good) console. Fatal Racing is very slow and the so-called
intelligence of the computer players leaves a lot to be desired.

Have a look at the demos.

Don't mind these other 'eikels' and nurdos. TNFS is a great looking game, But
after a while you get so sick of it that you'll throw it out the window.
Fatal-racing really really REALLY REALLYYYYYYY sucks big time. This stupid
racing game doesn't know what game-play is. It really SUCKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The game to get is Screamer. It looks good, it feels good, it IS good. It's
not very expensive and the game-play is AWESOME!!! And also a good racing game
is Destruction Derby, but that's not real racing game. Just buy Screamer and
you'll never play another racing game in your life ( accept maybe from F1GP2 ).

I did a search on screamer a few days ago in Netscape and found a page with
the demo.  you should try that.
