N2 - PLEASE HELP!!!!

by BSPN » Mon, 20 Apr 1998 04:00:00

Hi Guys...

I've developed a problem and I don't know what caused it so I don't know
where to begin to fix it. I run N2 on a P90 with a Diamond 2000 and it
runs reasonably well (18-20 FPS with the important stuff turned on).
Last night I put a new computer table in and simply transfered the
computer from one desk to the other. The only thing I can think of, that
might have had an effect, was that I plugged in the joystick instead of
my GP2 and booted N2 with that.  I did change it with the computer
running (which I know isn't smart (G)).

Well now my frame rate has dropped DRAMATICALLY to the point where it's
undriveable. What could have happened? Should I run setup again? What
could I have screwed up? I have about 510 conventional memory free,
which I believe is the same as before, and I have 24 Megs total.  I
rebooted and recalibrated my GP2 wheel, but the problem remains. As far
as I can tell, all other programs function normally.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, as I have a race this week.
Thanks in advance for your help!

 Lou,
One time, after being installed for about a year, N2 started doing the
same thing to me. I hadn't changed anything. Maybe Win95 loses something,
who knows? All I did to get it working was do a complete delete, clean out
everything you can find. Then reboot and reinstall. It worked for me, and it
still works. Never did figure out what happened, but it works.
    All the best, Mike
