NEW N2 BUG? (PLEASE HELP)

by Kirn Crom » Fri, 27 Dec 1996 04:00:00

I just recently experienced what I believe is a new bug in NASCAR
Racing 2, but it may be a problem with my Thrustmaster 2 wheel and
pedals.  After many sessions without a problem, I am now experiencing
rapid acceleration and gear problems when I try to pull out of my pit
stall.  The car lunges forward and the steering is erratic for a
couple of seconds, while the engine seemingly skips gears twice.
After about five seconds, the car is normal, but I have noticed that I
am no longer able to run smooth laps with the same setup I was using
before.  My steering is very touchy and the car tends to go completely
out of my control when exiting turns.  Just an hour before, I didn't
have a problem and was using the exact same setup.  Is this a possible
bug with the game or could my Thrustmaster 2 suddenly have gone on the
fritz?

Your game port card may be getting old and warming up, restricting the
necessary amount of amps (juice, power, electricity) to properly run your
T2.  Read Thrustmaster's docs for further information on what this problem
is and how to cure it.  In brief they suggest buying their game port
adaptor which is suited to the high amp draw of the T2.

You may have some worn pots (or the game-card problem mentioned).
There's an article to help you check this on my web site, and was
written by Phil McNelley with T2's in mind.  The title is called "Full
Trottle", and is located at:
