Recently my sound is extremely distorted whilst playing GPL and only GPL.

It is always without fail ok when i first fire up.

I could drive for 100 laps and it will be OK.

But if i return to the pits,change a set up or whatever then return to the
track it is horrifically distorted and will stay like that until a total
close down and restart of GPL.

As you may expect it has ruined my practicing and last night it ruined a
league race,as of course after Q it was fine but race started and off it
went again.

I searched and found a static patch from Bruce Johnson and prayed that would
fix it but alas..it didn't.

Any ideas lads..?

Ok, You've listed the symptoms, but nothing about your system. Give us an idea of what you have and
what OS, etc...

I have done a little investigating and it all leads back to the carsound.exe
installation.

I would be quite happy to reverse this without doing a full reinstall of
GPL,can you help?

That should be easy, restore the backup copy of GPL.exe you made when installing the car sound
patch.
I don't know what chipset you are running, but you may need updated BIOS and/or chipset drivers(VIA
4in1's, etc..) And make sure you are using the newest drivers from Creative for your SB Live!
