Well i`ve ordered my 6 speed shifter plate from act labs.... i guess there
may be a rush now what with Live for speed....

Great game... well worth the download ( even i did it on a 56k )

I`m getting up to speed with my 3 pedals and gear lever... should be good
enough to start racing online this weekend..

Care to give us a review on how LFS works with a clutch??

I remember I taped a joystick next to my pedals and configured the axis to
be used as the clutch (which I could easily do, thanks to their config
screen!). It was cool, but I had a really hard time getting a feel for it,
trying to push a joystick with my foot :)

Well the sim works well with a clucth and gear lever,
a lot depeneds on how real you want it, it holds the hand brake on for you
at the line and the clutch does feel different depending on which car your
in ie.... the 4 wheel drive car is easy to bog down on pull away, so a
little clucth slippage helps wonders.
What i find very nice is the gear change, if you change up or down with out
pressing the clucth pedal hard enough then it give you a gear crunch sound
with a miss gear, so the rev`s so sky wards and its very easy to buzz the
engine resulting in miss fires. what you have todo is re-press the clucth
pedal down and it then hooks the gear up.

The front wheel drive cars are nice with a clutch, you can induce drastice
understeer by slipping the clucth a little :-)
I`m not sure if in the final version they intend to inculde clucth damage
alone with wear and tear but it would be neat...

overall i`m pleased with my set up, i intending on buying a Motorcycle for
whats left with the summer, but i decided to treat my computer instead...
A gameracer frame, Pro7 pedals with clutch, Act labs gear lever ( usb ),
Momo Logictech wheel :-)
I`m happy as larry, miss`s preffers me at home where she can see me instead
of worrying about me being out in my car or on a bike i never got..

Hmmm, interesting tactic.

"Yes Dear, I was going to spend all that cash on a big, fast, dangerous
bike, but I thought of you and got all this gear for the PC instead."

Wonder if it will work with my wife?
